The LR1 Payload is purpose-built for high-resolution mapping and imaging missions with the Freefly Astro. Designed for performance and reliability, this payload natively mounts to Astro via the Freefly Smart Dovetail system, providing seamless power and data communication between the camera, gimbal, and ground station. Users can control camera settings, shutter, gimbal tilt, and image preview directly through the controller or LTE network.
The payload supports multiple lenses for various applications and includes expansion ports for add-on sensors, cameras, and power accessories. Each LR1 Payload includes a precision Freefly gimbal, a pre-installed 61MP Sony ILX-LR1 camera, a 24mm lens, a USB drive for geo-tagged image capture, and a durable travel case with a custom foam insert.
