3D Laser Scanning System 3D
laser scanning system for complete, accurate, fast visualization
and modeling of complex structures & sites Combines a state-of-the-art, pulsed laser with high speed scanning optics to remotely capture 3D surface geometry measurements of large structures and sites in the form of 3D point clouds. Cyrex System Overview A 3D laser scanning system for complete, accurate, fast visualization and modeling of large structures and sites. Cyrax is a portable, PC software and auto-scanning laser system that measures, visualizes and models large structures and sites with an unprecedented combination of speed, completeness and accuracy. You simply orient the scanner toward the scene, select the desired area and measurement density via your laptop, and then auto-scan. Complete surface geometry of exposed structures and sites is remotely captured in minutes in the form of dense, accurate "3D point clouds", ready for immediate use. Cyrax point clouds are a valuable, new "deliverable". They represent a highly detailed, instantaneous 3D "virtual model" of an existing site or structure þ complete with survey-grade measurements. As soon as Cyrax has scanned a structure or site, integrated software lets you use the 3D point clouds to rotate and fly around an existing site or structure to view it from any perspective and to dimension between any points. You can also use the 3D point clouds to create wire meshes, 3D models, and 2D drawings for export to popular CAD, rendering or other software. Applications Cyrax is used in surveying, architecture, engineering, construction, visual simulation, virtual reality, entertainment, and manufacturing applications.
Cyrax offers many advantages over traditional manual, survey, and photogrammetric methods of measuring, visualizing and modeling large structures and sites. Reduce Costly Errors and Omissions Cyrax directly captures and models detail that is literally orders of magnitude finer than that captured and modeled with most traditional methods. This extraordinary completeness and dependable accuracy, in turn, reduce costly project errors and omissions often associated with methods that collect far fewer samplings, rely on manual techniques, or are based on disconnected steps. Generate a More Valuable Output Both the user and client benefit from a far more complete, higher quality representation of the site or structure. In addition, Cyrax' 3D point clouds and quick, virtual 3D models enable the client to make better-informed decisions by being able to better visualize, understand and dimension the actual structure or site. Efficient and Safe Cyrax is a remarkably fast and easy way to add the benefits of 3D visualization to traditional 2D environments such as surveying, civil engineering, and architecture. For example, 3D point clouds can be used for powerful presentations to planning review boards, agencies and prospective clients. Save time and money, while improving safety Cyrax remotely scans complex areas with blazing speed, thus saving labor and time in data capture. For hard-to-access or unsafe areas, Cyrax can eliminate both the hazard and the cost of using scaffolds or harnesses. Integrated software speeds final model or drawing generation and output to CAD, etc. The system's completeness and accuracy also reduce costly revisits to the site. Easy to Learn Very high speed scanning produces hundreds of thousands of independent 3D coordinate measurements, which appear instantly as 3D graphic points on a laptop screen. These immediately available point clouds allow instant measurement between any points; they also provide an intuitive visual backdrop for 3D modeling, making Cyrax much easier to learn than tedious, multi-step 3D modeling methods like photogrammetry. As graphic images of a scene emerge on the laptop during a scan, you can fly through the image to view it from any perspective and ensure that the entire scene is being captured properly. Versatile Platform Users can "stitch" adjacent scans together to create full 3D models and representations of complex structures and sites. Scans from different views are taken by simply rotating the scan head and/or moving the scanner. Each individual scan provides accurate 3D geometry of the scanned surfaces. Using simple field and office techniques, scans can also be geo-referenced into local survey coordinate systems. If a person or vehicle passes in front of the scanner while it's scanning, these points appear as extraneous data that can be easily removed from the scene. This means that Cyrax can be used to map busy intersections or construction sites. On construction projects Cyrax can be used for site surveys, as-built surveys, construction inspection, interference checking, path planning, parts mating analysis, quantity surveys, and archiving construction progress. This versatility of Cyrax to aid in automating so many aspects of construction projects has led to the innovation of Computer Aided Construction or "CAC", a powerful new method of reducing costly project errors and overall construction project costs. |
